Destiny – It is a matter of choice!

You have a choice to create your own destiny, or to go where life takes you.  If you choose to control your own destiny you need to set goals. The first thing you need to do is to ask yourself, “What would I want for my life if I knew I could have it any way I wanted it? What would I do if I knew that I could not fail?”

For several years I have written yearly goals and always experienced some success with that.  For the past two years, I have experience results like never before. This year I wrote my yearly goals, and then I broke that down to quarterly goals, and then once a week, the same time every week, I would write my goals for that week! Just imagine looking at your goals 52 times a year instead of once!!! It is amazing that something so simple could result in such significant results!

It all leads up to a formula that guarantees success! It is this simple:

  1. Decide what you want – be specific – clarity is power.
  2. Take action -make sure you are taking action on your goals on a weekly basis.
  3. Evaluate what is and is not working.
  4. Be flexible, change your approach if it is not workingDo not continue to expend energy on an approach that will not produce the desired results.

Destiny it is a matter of choice – continued

If you want to start thinking about your goals hopefully this will get you started.  There are excellent books, tapes and resources available to those who want to make changes of a lifetime! Don’t forget to HAVE FUN! THIS IS YOUR DESTINY!!!

  1. Personal Development Goals – your sense of personal well-being and enrichment lays the foundation for every other achievement in your life. What would you like to learn? What skills do you want to master? What character traits would you like to develop? Who would your friends be? Who would you be?

  2. Career/Business/Economic Goals- whether you aspire to being at the top of your profession amassing millions or a professional student gaining a wealth of knowledge, now is your chance to be sure it counts. How much money do you want to accumulate? What do you wish to achieve with your career/company? How much do you wish to earn annually? What financial decisions do you need to make?

  3. Toys/Adventure goals – If you had no financial limitations, what are some of the things you’d like to have or experience? If a genie were before you now, waiting to obey your every command, what would you wish for? What would you like to build or purchase? What events would you like to attend? What adventures would you like to experience?

  4. Contributions Goals – this is your opportunity to leave your mark, to create a legacy that makes a true difference in people’s lives. How can you contribute? Who or what can you help? What can you create?

Keep your weekly goals on your desk and look at them daily.

Remember:
What you consistently think about and focus on, you move towards!
